History
Established in 1965 (the 54th year of the Republic of China), Hung En Medical Foundation Hung En General Hospital is a hospital with a proud and distinguished history.
We were once the only non-public hospital authorized to provide medical examinations for overseas travel, and also one of the earliest open hospitals in Taiwan—offering our facilities and beds to outstanding physicians from major medical centers to care for patients.
In response to the ever-changing healthcare environment, we have adapted our approach to prioritize the perspective and needs of our patients.
We are proud to participate in the National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) Referral Moonlight Project, for which we have been recognized with awards. We also maintain collaborative agreements with several top-tier hospitals, including Tri-Service General Hospital, Taipei Veterans General Hospital, Cathay General Hospital, Taipei Medical University Hospital, Cheng Hsin General Hospital, and Renai Branch of Taipei City Hospital.
Quality Certifications and Medical Equipment Updates
As medical technology continues to advance and considering the spatial limitations of our facility, we are currently designated as a regional hospital.
However, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our staff, we proudly obtained TAF accreditation for our Clinical Laboratory in 2025 (Year 114 of the Republic of China). In recent years, we have made significant investments in upgrading our medical equipment, including:
Gastrointestinal endoscopy systems、Three advanced ultrasound machines capable of examining the heart, abdomen, breasts, thyroid, as well as for use in obstetrics & gynecology, urology, pain management, and rehabilitation
Mammography system、Bone density and body composition analyzer、CT scanner (most recently upgraded to the latest model from Canon last year)、C-arm X-ray system, anesthesia machines, and surgical tables for our operating rooms
We have also introduced intravascular laser irradiation of blood (ILIB) and enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) systems,
and are currently in discussions to introduce transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and develop regenerative medicine capabilities.
Our Response to the Changing Healthcare Landscape
The healthcare environment is constantly evolving. The introduction of global budgeting for individual hospitals this year has further strengthened our resolve to adapt.
We plan to bring in more senior physicians, whose clinical experience—combined with our newly upgraded medical equipment—will enable faster and more accurate diagnoses. This helps to reduce patient wait times and emotional stress,
allowing for timely and appropriate treatment within our hospital, or referral to a suitable medical center when necessary.
Conclusion
Hung En Hospital has made significant investments in upgrading its medical equipment and will continue to provide fast and accurate diagnosis and treatment in the future.
We warmly welcome new physicians to join our team in delivering quality medical care and serving the best interests of our patients.
